M27 J10 Closures – 29 April to 2 May
Work to deliver improvements to the M27 Junction 10 near Fareham is progressing well – a giant ‘guide slab’ has been constructed alongside the motorway that will be used to slide a huge underpass into position later this year, using an innovative box slide engineering technique.

As part of the construction programme, four OVERNIGHT closures are needed on the A32 near M27 Junction 10, starting on Tuesday 29 April, from 9pm to 6am. This is to allow BT to undertake essential cabling diversion work.
The closures are:
- Tuesday 29 April and Wednesday 30 April 2025: A32 northbound closure and westbound exit slip road closure heading towards A32 Wickham – view details
- Thursday 1 May and Friday 2 May 2025: A32 southbound closure and eastbound entry slip road closure heading towards Fareham / Portsmouth – view details
Improvements are being made to support the development of Welborne Garden Village, a new community of up to 6000 homes just outside Fareham in Hampshire and to provide easier access to the M27 at this location. Hampshire County Council is delivering the scheme, working closely with National Highways. The scheme is being funded by Buckland Group, the developer of Welborne Garden Village and by Homes England.

A35 Totton Bypass closed eastbound between Rushington roundabout and the junction of High Street to through traffic between the hours of 20:00 – 06:00hrs.
As part of Hampshire County Council’s annual planned maintenance programme, they will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works at A35 Totton Bypass, from Bartram Road to the junction 33m east of the junction of High Street.
These works are programmed to start 7th May 2025 and will be carried out on the following nights of 8th, 12th, 13th and 14th of May to complete. During this time, the A35 Totton Bypass will be closed eastbound between Rushington roundabout and the junction of High Street to through traffic between the hours of 20:00 – 06:00hrs. The road will be open outside of these hours.
Whilst there is an allowance within the time periods shown above for delays, there may be times when it is necessary to postpone works at very short notice; based on the latest weather forecasts, this can occur just prior to works commencing. Up to date information will be provided when possible, but sometimes these last-minute decisions can be difficult to relay to the travelling public in a timely manner. When we can, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.
Information signs advising road users will be erected before the start of works. The attached letter will be sent to New Forest District and Totton and Eling Town Councils have been copied into this email to advise them accordingly.
