New Outdoor Features Invite Residents to Relax, Explore and Enjoy Nature

Green spaces across Totton & Eling have been refreshed with new features designed to make the outdoors more enjoyable, welcoming, and inspiring for local residents and visitors.

With a focus on creativity, wellbeing, and community spirit, nine new benches have been installed throughout the town. Made from sustainable oak and galvanised steel, these thoughtfully designed bespoke benches individualised to the Town to complement the natural surroundings and offer peaceful spots to rest and take in the view.

In the Town Park, a newly developed rockery, a set of unique play equipment, and a human sundial now offer a mix of tranquillity and curiosity. The rockery brings a soft, natural setting to sit and relax, while the sculptures provide an immersive artistic experience that encourages people to engage with nature in a new way. The human sundial is a fun and interactive addition that allows visitors to use their shadow to tell the time, adding a gentle educational element to the park.

Along the town’s popular Green Route, a community-led project supported by the Council has introduced handcrafted ceramic mushrooms made by local residents. These whimsical installations add a touch of discovery and charm to the path and reflect Totton’s growing sense of civic pride and creativity.
