Information on exemptions and charges:
- Please note that all current exemptions for Eling Toll Bridge ceased on 30th September 2024.
- The residents of Eling Hill, Bury Brickfields, the Vicar and church employees will be able to purchase an annual pass for £25.00 per vehicle from reception at Totton and Eling Town Council, Civic Centre, Totton. The pass must be displayed in the front windscreen of the vehicle so that it is clearly visible when crossing the bridge.
- The bridge has a maximum gross weight limit of 2 tonnes and the V5 for the vehicle will be required when the pass is purchased as proof of address and to ensure that it does not exceed the weight limit.
- The charges and exemptions have been reviewed with the aim of reducing the amount of traffic crossing the bridge, to help to protect the structure and extend its life. The Eling Tide Mill which is located on the bridge is a listed building with the bridge originally constructed to form a dam and mill pond.
- There is no toll for pedestrians and cyclists.
