Supporting the Community with Creativity and Care
The Rotary Club of New Forest continues to make a positive impact on the local community through their creative and charitable initiatives. One standout project this season is the production of handmade Christmas wreaths crafted from recycled can ring pulls. These unique and eco-friendly decorations, adorned with festive ribbons, are available for £15 each, with proceeds supporting local charitable causes.
The club also invites residents to contribute by donating ring pulls, which can be dropped off at 3 Vixen Close, Ashurst, SO40 7ET. “Your small acts of kindness, like saving ring pulls, help us create meaningful items and raise funds for important causes,” said Clive Rutland, a dedicated member of the Rotary.
The Infamous Quiz Raises Over £1,500 for Charity
The Rotary’s latest quiz night at the Lyndhurst Community Hall brought together 18 teams, totaling around 150 participants, for an evening of fun and fundraising. The event raised over £1,500 to support New Forest for Ukraine and other charitable projects, thanks to the generosity of attendees and local donors. A special mention goes to Neil, the Principal of The New Forest Estate Agent, for donating a bottle of champagne as a raffle prize.
Free Defibrillator Training Recap
Earlier in November, the Rotary Club hosted free defibrillator training sessions at a local venue, drawing strong community participation. These sessions provided vital life-saving skills, ensuring more residents are equipped to handle emergencies.
