Update from Southern Water

Over the weekend, Southern Water have been continuing to investigate the repair that is required for the burst water main on Eling Hill.

They’ve now exposed further pipework that needs to be fixed, and unfortunately the repair is more complicated than first anticipated.

They believe it will take more than two weeks to complete the repair and reinstatement. Further investigations will confirm the timeline.

No customer supply impact

Please note that there is no customer supply impact as a result of this burst. Water has been diverted around the network, all customers remain in supply and will do so during the repair.

Road closures

Due to the repair that is required, road closures are in place on Downs Park Crescent, Lexby Road, Eling Lane and Eling Hill at the junction of Eling Toll Bridge. Pedestrian access is unaffected.

Southern Water Customer team will be on the ground on Monday 14/09/26 visiting affected businesses and residents. When the Customer team visit the area, they will also provide direct contact details for those affected so they can get in touch with a dedicated contact with any follow-up questions.
