A31 Closure Following Wildfire in the New Forest

Residents are advised that the A31 is currently closed until further notice following a wildfire in the New Forest.

The events started after a lorry caught fire on Sunday 9 August, and spread to surrounding areas.

As a result, the A31 has been closed while Emergency Services are working hard to manage the ongoing incident and ensure public safety.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for journeys, as significant delays and diversions are expected.

Residents in areas effected by smoke are being encouraged to keep windows and doors closed.
