
Evening of Remembrance: 80th Anniversary of VE Day
Totton & Eling Town Council, in partnership with the Royal British Legion, invites you to a moving evening of reflection and tribute at the Totton & Eling War Memorial.

Evening Programme:
- 💐 Memorial Service – 17:30 to 18:00 A formal remembrance service led by the Royal British Legion and Totton & Eling Town Council, honouring the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
- 🎭 Theatrical Performance – 18:30 to 19:30 West End actors and local talent will take you on a whistle stop tour of World War II to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.Combining well known songs, live music, poetry of the period and stories collected from current local residents who lived through it, WE’LL MEET AGAIN: A DAY TO REMEMBER will transport you back to the 30s and 40s in a tribute to the sacrifice made by the brave men and women of the time.A perfect compliment to the memorial service, WE’LL MEET AGAIN: A DAY TO REMEMBER will add a very human element and aim to make this important day as accessible and relatable as possible.

- 👥 Everyone Welcome: This is a free community event and open to all residents and visitors.
- 🌤 Weather Considerations: Please dress appropriately for the evening weather and arrive in good time.
- 🪑 No seating will be provided: Please feel free to bring a chair to the theatrical performance to make your evening more comfortable. As this event is outdoors and on a grassy area, a suitable/portable chair will be required.
